Bluegrass Christmas in the Smokies

Going on right now is another Christmastime festival favorite at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center until December the 12th.

For those who enjoy the rich wealth of quality Southern music (as if there was any other kind!) Pigeon Forge plays throughout the year at some of our other festivals like the southern Harvest and Bluegrass Festival at Dollywood or the National Quartet Convention, this event is an awesome bridge between that excellent pastime and the holiday season. The location is set directly in downtown Pigeon Forge, excellently convenient from pretty much anywhere you stay in the Smokies, and offers copious parking space along with trolley access.

Artists for this year include:
* Eddy Raven
* Lorraine Jordan & Carolina Road
* Marty Raybon & Full Circle
* Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver
* James King Band
* Goldwing Express
and many more.

Fourth of July Events in Pigeon Forge For 2015

It's that time of the year everyone looks forward to from the start of June to the 4th of July and we want to invite you out to Wears Valley and Pigeon Forge to spend it with us in the Smokies!

Pigeon Forge is where you want to be for that magical day and Patriot Park is where all the action is going on. The entire park becomes a family picnic and fun park. Inflatable attractions for the young'uns, food tents, cooling down stations, and the entire Old Mill complex to enjoy. There is a huge soundstage erected at the North end of the park where there will be entertainment and music almost nonstop throughout the day culminating with a performance from headlining act Diamond Rio.

Then, between 9:30-9:45PM, the big show will start. For more than 15 minutes, the fireworks will explode over the park in an amazingly colorful display you'll remember for years. Well worth the visit to the Smokies to enjoy!

Come stay with us at Cove Mountain and you'll only be between 15-20 minutes from the action in Pigeon Forge. Enjoy a full day of fun out and about and then come back to a luxury home-away-from-home to rest those aching feet in our hot tubs, enjoy our swimming pool or anything else you can imagine in a luxury home.

See our website at for all our cabins. We hope to see you soon!

One More Chance For a Smoky Mountain Springtime Getaway!

We've got some Springtime left before the big Summer push in tourism, and this is sort of the "quiet before the storm". It's a bit slow in the area right now (for late Spring anyway) but that will change as Graduation season and school lets out. If you want to get in one more relaxing trip to the Smokies before the traffic gets hot, this is the time to do it.

Dollys Homecoming Parade and Sevier County Days 2015

Looking for some affordable entertainment in the Smokies to enjoy with the family? Come out this weekend where we have two events going on in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.

The first one is next Friday, May 1st, where Pigeon Forge will be holding the annual Dolly Homecoming Parade between Stoplights #6 and #3 on the main parkway at 6:00PM. This is a city-wide effort where dozens of floats, locals and business owners all march down the main street of the city with Miss Dolly herself following close behind.

The second one starts the following Sunday, May 3rd, and goes on to Thursday, May 7th. Ripley's in Gatlinburg will be holding "Sevier County Days", where locals and visitors who live or work in Sevier County, Jefferson County, and Cocke County can get into any Ripley's attraction, including the Aquarium, Haunted Adventure, Guinness World of Records, any of them for only $5 a person. And money that goes to Ripleys goes on to the Sevier County Food Ministry as well.

Check back with us in a little while for special events coming up next month as the Summer season starts.

Spring in the Smokies 2015

Praise our maker, Spring has sprung here in the Smokies! The Dogwoods are exploding into popcorn trees, the colors are blooming all across the motor and hiking trails, the temperatures are as comfortable as we'll see all year, and it's a prime to consider coming out to the Smokies for a vacation.

Need an additional reason? Ok, how about that Dollywood is now open with Festival of the Nations? This is the 30th anniversary of the park becoming Dollywood and there will be new things being offered throughout the year (including the huge new DreamMore Dollywood Resort). Ireland is the focus again for Festival of the Nations and there are new performers taking stage throughout as well. "Timber!" and the "Alash Ensemble" will definitely be acts you want to check out. The Year Begins With The Smokies

It's that time of the year when it's not really a time of the year at all - the big holidays are over with, the mountains are bare, and things are quiet for the most part until mid-April... but don't go thinking that this some sort of despondent time for the Smokies. The low traffic and even lower temperatures afford those who choose to come out the opportunity to enjoy East Tennessee at it's most solemnly dignified. No color in the hills, but they project a haunting beauty all the same, and the atmosphere lends itself well to romantic getaways and vacations you couldn't take during the holidays because the holidays themselves were no holiday at all!

Such are just a few examples of why you should consider a trip to the Smoky Mountains here in January. If you'd like some more, consider the following:

1. Gas prices are currently hovering slightly above or slightly below the $2.00.

2. The 25th Wilderness Wildlife Week in Pigeon Forge will be starting up at the end of the month.

3. We have plenty of luxury Smoky Mountain cabins waiting for you here at Cove Mountain Resort! Anywhere from 1 bedroom to 7 right here in Wears Valley between Pigeon Forge and Townsend, TN (some cabins are even pet-friendly!)
